Water Wheel Contracting Company was formed by a group of ex-CARE International employees. Our company undertakes construction and rehabilitation work in the water, sewerage and the construction sectors. Our team is made of different disciplined engineers including civil; electrical and mechanical engineers. We also have RO and concrete experts, a group of experienced technicians.

Water Wheel has a certified and registered design and consultancy department. This staff with its management team has worked together since 1998. While working for CARE we had direct responsibility for the rehabilitation of water and sewerage installations, the replacement of potable water networks, sewage piping systems and grey water evacuation channels, the construction and rehabilitation of hospitals and primary healthcare centers.

Water Wheel has three concrete batch mixers plus mixer trucks and pumps and we are currently engaged with Fluor Corporation in supplying concrete for the new water treatment plant in Baladruz.

Our most recently completed project at Basrah, with Western Solutions is:

• Designing, drilling and constructing four water wells
• Designing, supplying and constructing a water treatment plant with an RO system
• Designing, supplying and constructing a storage tank with a high lift pumping station
• Designing and laying potable water networks
• Designing, supplying and constructing a sewage treatment plant
• Designing and laying sewage network system

The operation, maintenance and management maintenance of the water treatment facility took two months to complete.

We have completed a project in Nasseriyah with Western Solutions, which included the followings:

• Designing, supplying and constructing an intake structure with a low lift pumping station
• Designing, supplying and constructing a water treatment plant with an RO system
• Designing and laying potable water networks designing, supplying and constructing
• Designing, supplying and constructing a sewage treatment plant
• Designing and laying sewage network system
• Designing and installing a fire fighting system with three pumping stations
• Designing and the constructing accommodation units and utility units for a campsite
• Designing and constructing stores
• Designing and installing the equipment for the kitchen facilities and the gas storage and piping system

The operation, maintenance and management of the water and sewage facilities took three months to complete.

At Baghdad, Fluor Corporation included the followings:

• Design and construction of the chemical and administration building in Wathba Water Treatment Plant
• Design and construction of the chemical building in Wahda’s Water Treatment Plant

At Hilla, Fluor Corporation included the following:

• Design and construction of the maintenance workshop buildings, warehouses and administration buildings for the water authorities

At Baquba, Fluor Corporation included the following:

• Designing and laying of 140 km of potable water network

At Basrah (Um Qasir) with Western Solutions, our project included the followings:

• Renovation of six buildings including a fire station and a health centre
• Construction of thee buildings – kitchen, dining and training facilities (This project included providing all the equipment for the kitchen facility)
• Construction of ten guard towers
• Provision and installation of electrical boards
• Installing the main electrical cabling
• Installation of generators plus fuel tanks
• Construction of a parking area with protective shades
• Manufacturing and installation of six main armored gates
• Construction of sidewalks
